2012 Legacy Family

The family of Janet Wimmer McKinney ’55 and the late Chuck McKinney

Janet Wimmer McKinney and her late husband, Chuck, were very active in the Catholic community and are the proud parents of five Badin graduates.

Janet is a 1955 graduate of Notre Dame High School, where she was a cheerleader and the Homecoming queen. Chuck did not graduate from Hamilton Catholic, but he was a key player in the Catham Club as well as CYO football and basketball.

Chuck was the Catham Club president from 1974-1978. In 1975, he and his fellow Catham Club members took a bold chance and held a fish fry instead of a festival for their major fund-raiser. It was tremendously successful and continues to be a major
event on the calendar.

Coach Terry Malone has said over the years that Chuck McKinney’s tenure was instrumental in making the Catham Club financially stable, something that has benefited all of our student athletes for many years.

Chuck and Janet’s children and grandchildren played and will continue to play significant roles in the success of Badin High School athletics.
