David Korb ’11 takes great pride in his work as a Herdsman in the family business at Korb Farms, a business his grandfather started. He and his dad, Mark, are the face of the company, but as David says, it takes many to do the job including his uncles and several neighbors. David loves the competition of show hogs and boars and all that goes into making them winners. Korb Farms run approximately 70 sows consisting of Hampshire, Yorkshire, Landrace, Durocs, and Crossbreds and their most unique asset is the "ability to be competitive across five different breeds. I think our hogs set themselves apart in the fact that they blend show ring traits with everyday function and production." David is very successful in the show ring and loves what he does, every day. He’s a great asset to the family business!

What is your best advice for current Badin students?
Follow your passion! Take advantage of every opportunity presented to you and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone! Most importantly, BE YOURSELF!
What is your best memory as a Badin student?
As I think back on my many memories from Badin two memories come to mind:
1) Missing the game winning shot on senior night to lose to Fenwick
2) Giving up the RBI single to Andrew Benintendi to lose in the playoffs my senior year I was never the pedigreed Badin golden child but having the opportunity to be in those positions are what I'm most proud of. Through hard work and determination and it was rather the journey to get to those points that make up my favorite memories! It also helped me realize that I was better off raising pigs than trying to become the next pro superstar.
Who was your favorite faculty/staff member?
It's hard to pick one because I had such a great experience at Badin. Having the opportunity to play for so many great coaches and learn under so many great teachers is what made Badin special to me!
