Michael Fey '93 is is the president and COO of Symantec and previously of Blue Coat Systems, an author, a public speaker and a patent holder. He is married with a daughter. Mike has a B.S. in Engineering Physics, Minor in Mathematics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Magna Cum Laude.

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about protecting the world from Cyber Threats.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Astronaut

Who inspires you and why?
Colin Powell - He was an amazing leader who quietly defined the free world for decades.

What led you to your career/business?
A desire to solve large complicated problems that could make a real difference.

What is your favorite quote?

Where have you traveled in the world?
I have traveled the globe racking up more than 10M miles. I have seen almost every country and my favorite place on the planet is sitting at the lake enjoying a slice of heaven with my friends just 30 minutes from my house, because when it is said and done nothing beats being around great people.

What is your favorite book or movie?
Blazing Saddles, because nothing is better than laughing!

What is your best advice for current Badin students?
"Nothing substantial, nothing with meaning happens until you take some risks and push out of your comfort zone. You alone own your future, the sooner you realize that the sooner you start making a great future."

If you had $1 million what would you do with it?
I have been very blessed and will be starting my own charity in the years to come.

What is your best memory as a Badin student?
I secretly really enjoyed physics, chemistry and Biology. I loved being in those classes almost as much as I hated my other classes. It was in those classes I realized that my future might lead me to many interesting things.
